Garden 4 Kids - Amarillo

Planting Seeds Of Hope

Not Everyone Knows Where Their Next Meal Is Coming From.

Women facing homelessness and addiction often struggle to feed both themselves and their children, leading to a life of hunger and emotional hardship.

The Garden 4 Kids is an SP4K-sponsored community that empowers the women and children living in our area shelters by providing them with fresh produce at no cost. We teach them how to grow nutritious food and provide for their families, so they can live fulfilling, independent lives.

A BETTER COMMUNITY

At the Garden 4 Kids, women and children struggling with homelessness and addiction receive much more than just food. They complete their recovery knowing how to grow their own backyard gardens, so they can lead independent lives and help make our community a better place.

Most importantly, the program treats them with respect and dignity. When they participate in the G4K, they know they are important, valued, and cared for – no strings attached.

Garden4Kids-PictureThe Garden partners with community organizations and volunteers to help the women and children living in Amarillo shelters. One-hundred percent of donations designated for the Garden is invested into the G4K project.

In addition to helping those living in area shelters, Garden 4 Kids also supports local schools by providing hands-on experience for students enrolled in the Palo Duro High School Horticulture class. The Garden also provides volunteers with the opportunity to serve and help make our community a better place.
